Job summary

MFS is seeking an Enterprise Risk Officer to lead the technology and AI risk program, expanding governance, risk assessment, and controls across AI-enabled solutions. You will partner with the AI Governance Group and first- and second-line stakeholders to ensure risk practices align with regulatory expectations and firm objectives.

The role focuses on risk assessment, mitigation, third-party risk, technology risk oversight, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 8-12+ years of risk experience in enterprise, operational, technology, or IT risk.
• Knowledge of AI governance, AI risk management, ML, generative AI, intelligent automation, analytics, and model governance.
• Experience with global technology and operational resilience regulations (DORA, UK Operational Resilience).
• Ability to translate AI/tech risks into practical business, control, and governance terms for senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, independent working style and ability to synthesize complex information.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate across teams.
• Some periodic travel (domestic and international) may be required.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on use of Archer GRC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of the Technology and AI Risk program.
• Provide second-line support to AI Governance Group for intake, approval, and monitoring of AI tools and use cases.
• Conduct AI-related risk assessments and develop practical mitigation actions.
• Oversee risk management for new tools, cloud adoption, and modernization efforts.
• Develop risk metrics, dashboards, and reporting for senior management and governance bodies.
• Coordinate third-party and vendor risk assessments, including fourth-party dependencies.
• Lead targeted risk assessments for significant tech and AI initiatives and ensure governance, data, and resilience are addressed.
• Facilitate risk training and stakeholder engagement across Risk, Technology, Compliance, Legal, and Data Governance.
