Job Details: Job Location: Tennessee FM - Chattanooga, TN 37416, Tech 1 – Facilities Maintenance

Position Summary

The Technician 1 is responsible for performing a variety of facility maintenance and support services at the assigned site on an as-needed basis. The Technician 1 helps ensure the facility remains clean, safe, operational, and properly maintained by completing daily assignments and supporting the Maintenance team.

This position serves as a key support role within Facilities Maintenance, allowing Maintenance Technicians to focus on maintaining and repairing site equipment and critical systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform daily work assignments as directed by site supervision or management.
• Take and document boiler and equipment readings/logs as required.
• Fill and maintain cooling towers as needed.
• Perform offloads and related tasks at the tank farm in accordance with site procedures and safety requirements.
• Sweep and maintain shop floors and designated work areas.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) tasks assigned through the site's maintenance system.
• Assist with general facility maintenance and upkeep throughout the site.
• Perform routine inspections and identify maintenance or facility issues that require attention.
• Assist Maintenance Technicians with tasks as needed.
• Use basic hand tools and demonstrate general handyman skills to complete routine maintenance and facility tasks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company, customer, safety, environmental, and site-specific policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous experience in facilities maintenance, general maintenance, industrial services, or a related field is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and general maintenance practices.
• Ability to perform basic handyman tasks with minimal supervision.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and site personnel.
• Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to adapt to changing daily assignments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry industry-standard weights associated with the position.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods and walk long distances throughout the workday.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, reach, and work in various positions as required.
• Ability to work in an industrial environment and safely perform assigned duties.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work Environment

The Technician 1 works in an industrial/facility environment and may be exposed to varying temperatures, noise, dust, equipment, and other conditions associated with facility and maintenance operations. The employee is expected to follow all applicable safety procedures and use required PPE at all times.
