Job summary

ICU Medical Inc. is seeking a production operator to support Form, Fill and Seal packaging lines in Southington, CT. You will receive, inspect, sort and pack product, perform line changeovers, and maintain 5S standards while ensuring accurate traceability and documentation.

You will work with scanners, label makers and tape equipment, assist training of new Operators, and participate in EH&S initiatives to promote continuous improvement in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computers and basic software.
• Adequate fine motor hand coordination.
• Sound judgment for product disposition decisions.

Responsibilities

• Operate Form, Fill and Seal machines, scanners, label maker and tape machine.
• Receive, inspect, sort and pack product efficiently.
• Visually inspect packing materials to ensure proper documentation.
• Perform changeovers and line clearance on FFS equipment.
• Ensure paperwork and traceability are complete and accurate.
• Assist with training of new Operators.
• Maintain 5S standards in assigned areas.
• Support environmental, health and safety initiatives and continuous improvement.

• Receive, inspect, sort and pack product in a timely and efficient manner.
• Visually inspect packing material to ensure appropriate documentation accompanies product.
• Clean and inspect FFS machines during changeover to ensure all product has been removed and accurate packing occurs. Perform skid changeover and line clearance activities.
• Verify that all paperwork is complete and accurate, including traceability.
• Assist with training of new Operators.
• Maintain 5S standards in assigned work areas.
• Model company values and support strategic initiatives.
• This position is required to assure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including knowledge of all standards, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statutes related to the site).
• Engage others, promote and participate in Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives, focusing on continuous improvement.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Education requirements may be obtained through an educational institution or gained through equivalent work experience.
• Less than 1 year of experience; manufacturing background preferred.

Work Environment

• Work involves use of manufacturing equipment or close proximity to equipment. May be exposed to biohazards and/or chemicals.
• Work environment can range from clean room and proper gowning requirements to a production area that is open, potentially noisy and with moving equipment.
• Recurring physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, crouching, climbing, bilateral motion involving hands, wrists and upper body.
• Concentrated visual attention to perform checks on products and components.
• Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
