Job summary

North Hill in Needham, MA, seeks a Team Member Café Coordinator to support the Team Member Café setup and service. You will prepare foods, serve to staff, help with inventory, and ensure sanitation and safety standards in a campus dining setting.

Requirements include 1–3 years dining/serving experience, a High School diploma, and ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain). A team-oriented, confidential, customer-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• ServSafe certification is a plus; willingness to obtain it on hire.
• 1–3 years dining and serving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food, including cutting ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, and snacks per HACCP guidelines.
• Serve food in the Team Member Café and deliver to the employee line as required.
• Assemble salads per recipes for the employee line.
• Perform daily or scheduled cleaning duties per policies and procedures.
• Monitor inventory par levels and communicate needs for supplies (coffee, cups, etc.).
• Maintain professional interactions with team members, coworkers, and vendors.
• Demonstrate a team attitude and willingness to help others as needed.
• Safely operate basic kitchen equipment and prevent cross-contamination.
• Maintain sanitation and hygiene standards and proper storage of foods.
• Record temperatures and store items appropriately.
• Assist Executive Chef with menu planning for Team Member Café.
• Comply with OSHA regulations and local health, safety, and environmental laws.

For over 40 years, North Hill, a not-for-profit senior living community located in Needham, Massachusetts, has provided vibrant living opportunities to people 65+ by offering a host of hospitality, wellness and health care services. The Team Member Café Coordinator is responsible for supporting the setup and execution of the Team Member Café food and beverage within the North Hill community.

Job Specific Duties

• Prepare food, including cleaning and cutting ingredients, and cooking main dishes,desserts, appetizers, and snacks using HACCP guidelines
• Serves food in the Team Member Café and deliver all food to employee line as required
• Assembles and prepares salad according to recipes for the employee line
• Performs daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies andprocedures
• Collaborate with management to maintain inventory par levels by proactivelycommunicating supply needs and low-stock items (e.g., coffee, cups, etc.)
• Maintains professional interactions with all Team Members, co- workers and vendors
• Consistent willingness to help others as needed, always displaying a team attitude
• Strong understanding and respect of safe operation of basic kitchen equipment (I.e.knifes) and importance of food safety (i.e. cross contamination)
• Implements and maintains strong sanitation and hygiene standards and procedures
• Records temperatures and stores in the proper storage area (freezer, refrigerators,stock room, etc.)
• Assists Executive Chef in menu planning for Team Member caféMeets department uniform, appearance and grooming requirements
• Comply with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safetyor environment

Education and Experience

• High School graduate or equivalent is required
• 1 to 3 years of dining and serving experience is required
• ServSafe Certification is a plus. Candidates must be willing to obtain certification upon hire if notalready certified

Satisfactory completion of a background investigation is required for this position.

Pay Range: $21-$25/hour
