A Team Member plays a crucial role in our daily operations. Responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, they prioritize exceptional customer service while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the coffee bar. Accurate order processing, friendly interactions with customers, and proactive communication regarding inventory needs are all part of their responsibilities. Hourly Pay

• 12.25/hr + Tips ($6/hr Average)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a range of coffee drinks, including espresso-based beverages, pour-over & drip coffee, and flash brew
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and equipment. Executing daily and weekly cleaning tasks, as well as a weekly deep clean of the cafe
• Accurately process orders and handle transactions with situational awareness
• Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, answering questions and making recommendations as needed - focusing on hospitality
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, and communicate need for orders
• Prepare in-house bar & kitchen items, prepping as needed
• Follow food safety guidelines and maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, filling out and executing on daily & weekly checklists

Requirements

• Previous experience in food & beverage or in a customer service role is preferred, but not required
• Friendly, caring, and a heart to serve (A MUST)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• An ability to learn and maintain operational and situational awareness on shift
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic understanding of coffee brewing techniques and terminology
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds

Hiring Process Includes an Unpaid Staging Shift

To support a fair, skills-based hiring decision, shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete an unpaid staging shift (2-4hours) as a final step in the selection process.

Purpose

The staging shift helps us assess the fit for the team, practical readiness for a coffee shop environment, including hospitality, customer service, communication, cleanliness/food-safety habits, ability to follow direction, and comfort working at a fast pace.
