Since 1977, we've grown from a small antique store to a nationally recognized neighborhood sandwich shop with over 400 locations across the U.S. Join our growing Potbelly Nation and help us serve great sandwiches with great vibes!

Role Overview

A Potbelly Associate's main responsibility is to ensure customers enjoy their lunch experience by providing fast, friendly, and efficient service, delivering quality products in a clean and inviting environment.

Qualifications:

• Desire to delight customers with great food and good vibes
• Friendly and customer service oriented
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle kitchen heat; knife skills a plus
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• Team player
• Comfortable with noise levels from music and traffic
• Ability to manage potential allergens (peanuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish)
• Stand/walk for at least 3 hours
• At least 16 years of age
• Can lift up to 10 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
• Illinois applicants: must become food safety certified within 30 days

Job Duties:

• Operate multiple stations as directed
• Follow health and safety standards
• Restock supplies
• Prepare products efficiently
• Use food slicer if 18 or older
• Clean and maintain cleanliness
• Handle cash register and transactions
• Address customer concerns
• Manage delivery, catering, and pickup orders
• Perform additional duties as assigned
