Job Title: Team Manager (Social Work) – Connected Carers Team

Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced social work professional to join Durham Council as a Team Manager within the Connected Carers Team, part of the fostering service. This role offers the chance to lead and inspire a dedicated team, combining office-based work in Seaham with the flexibility of remote working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of fostering social workers, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the assessment and support of connected carers, maintaining high standards of service delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with a social work consultant to enhance team performance and outcomes.
  • Provide quality assurance oversight, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across the service.
  • Support the planning and delivery of strategic objectives for the Connected Carers Team.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with registration to Social Work England (SWE).
  • Substantial post-qualification experience within fostering or children’s services.
  • Proven management and leadership skills within social work settings.
  • Strong understanding of legislation, guidance and best practice in fostering and connected carers.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and decision-making abilities.
