RSG is seeking a dynamic leader for our Travel Demand Modeling practice to head an existing team of skilled consultants and drive growth across multiple practice areas through developing and executing market strategies. This is a remote opportunity.

Position: Travel Demand Modeling Team Leader (Market Leader)

You are a subject matter expert who plans and manages the team’s delivery of complex, large-scale projects. You develop forecasting tools and data products to support US transportation agencies navigating the evolving mobility landscape. You are responsible for team performance, market growth, and identifying new opportunities. You will also manage projects to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery, resulting in high customer satisfaction and strong business outcomes.

You possess good technical judgment, work well in teams, and are resourceful, clear, and creative. Your interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills enable you to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. You participate in meetings with team members and clients, managing your tasks efficiently. We serve a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients locally, nationally, and internationally.

Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Execution (25%)
  2. Internalize RSG’s mission, vision, values, practices, and strategies; communicate confidently and persuasively.
  3. Work with leadership to operationalize strategies.
  4. Lead and guide the travel demand modeling team, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery of high-quality projects.
  5. Develop project strategies aligned with client and organizational goals, considering industry trends.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance service offerings.
  7. Guide project managers in resource management.
  8. Identify opportunities for resource optimization, service enhancement, and innovation.
  9. Monitor project performance and ensure accountability.
  10. Participate in recruitment, staff management, mentoring, and development.
  1. Business Development and Client Relations (25%)
  2. Drive revenue through business development efforts.
  3. Position the consulting division strategically in the market.
  4. Build and maintain client relationships, identify growth opportunities, and develop solutions.
  5. Seek new client engagements and additional services.
  6. Stay informed about industry trends and lead market strategy development.
  7. Participate in industry events to promote RSG.
  1. Project Delivery and Management (50%)
  2. Provide operational direction for project goals and deliverables.
  3. Manage budgets, timelines, and resources for successful project completion.
  4. Ensure project teams meet client expectations and satisfaction.
  5. Oversee project portfolios, monitor KPIs, and drive accountability.
  6. Handle project-related tasks and issues effectively.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Preferred fields: transportation, energy, market research, statistics, math, economics, psychology, geography, engineering, or similar.
  • Masters or higher degrees preferred.
  • 15+ years of consulting experience and domain expertise.

  • Proven leadership of regional consulting teams and large projects.
  • Ability to drive team performance and strategic alignment.
