Team Leader - Transportation Engineering

We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil engineering professional to join our Indianapolis office as Team Leader for Transportation. The selected candidate will lead a multi-discipline team which serves INDOT and LPA clients with planning and design for transportation projects in Central Indiana.

• Leads and serves a group of professionals which includes engineers, designers, surveyors, utility coordinators, and NEPA specialists.
• Collaborates with the Area Manager and business development staff on client/project pursuits and maintenance of existing client relationships.
• Works with the marketing staff on proposals and campaigns to promote the practice across various media channels.
• Provides quarterly coaching to staff, conducts regular staff meetings, and actively works to build the depth of the team through training and development activities.
• Performs administrative functions including timesheet and expense report approval; conducts candidate interviews and makes staffing recommendations.
• Collaborates with other Team Leaders and staff throughout the region and company to share work and resources as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and IN PE license are required.
• 10+ years of experience with transportation design projects; experience with project and people management is required.
• Experience with the planning, design, and construction of roadway improvements for DOT and LPA clients.
• Knowledge of the INDOT Design Manual and Project Development Process for roadway projects, including submittals, permitting, and environmental requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage people and projects.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop client relationships, market new business, make public presentations, and write technical reports.
• Knowledgeable with the capabilities of various transportation design tools including Open Roads Designer.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to client and project sites as needed.
