Job Responsibilities

• Performing daily tasks within the work area as part of a team, including:
• Being an on-the-floor participant with associates
• Covering for unplanned absences and vacations
• Understanding and maintaining all department reports and procedures
• Coordinating breaks and lunch schedules
• Overseeing and understanding the maintenance of equipment, PMs, and work orders
• Assisting managers with scheduling of associates
• Understanding production processes and executing department requirements
• Maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Promoting and enforcing quality and food safety standards
• Serving as a role model for associates
• Planning and conducting job skill training for all associates, including writing Skill Breakdown Sheets (SBSs) and conducting Job Instruction Training (JIT)
• Leading and driving improvements in plant operations
• Analyzing and understanding KPIs and data
• Performing the day-to-day tasks of the Department Manager/Assistant Department Manager in their absence, such as production scheduling and planning
• Performing other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 18 years old
• Ability to learn and perform all department positions
• Understanding of plant policies, practices, procedures, and requirements
• Ability to plan, organize, and follow through on assignments
• Ability to obtain a forklift license and operate a forklift
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds
• Willingness to travel for specialized training
• High level of maturity, discretion, tact, and judgment
• Proficiency in computer skills, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Thorough knowledge of GMPs
• Ability to use industrial chemicals safely
• Basic mechanical skills
