Job summary

Franklin Precision Industry Inc is seeking a Team Leader for the 3rd shift in Franklin, KY. The role focuses on production and quality across one or more assembly lines, replacing operators when needed and ensuring smooth line operation.

You will lead training for new team members, perform 5S housekeeping, and drive continuous improvement through Kaizen activities, while maintaining safety and quality standards on the line.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience leading manufacturing teams preferred.
• Familiarity with 5S, Kaizen and quality controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Replace assembly operators on production lines.
• Assist on assembly lines to ensure smooth operation.
• Report abnormal conditions to Group Leader and Supervisor.
• Train new team members on shift for extended periods.
• Conduct 5S in the assigned area and teach teammates.
• Perform Kaizen activities on the assembly line.
• Complete daily reports and charting.
• Audit standardized work and maintain safety standards.

TEAM LEADER - MANUFACTURING - 3rd SHIFT

General Position Summary

Team Leaders are responsible for the production and quality on one or more manufacturing assembly lines. Duties include but are not limited to; Quality and Facility checks, stocking components, keeping hourly Change Point Record and maintaining 5S at all times.

Essential Functions

• Replace assembly operators in their absence on production lines
• Assist on assembly lines to ensure smooth running of lines
• Report Abnormal Condition to Group leader and Supervisor.
• Conduct worker observation of team members to ensure they are adequately trained.
• Record skill level of subordinates on MFWTT.
• Construct line balance and “Yamazumi” charts to increase line efficiency.
• Accurately Report production, in process defect, and scrap information.
• Conduct Preventative Maintenance of assigned assembly equipment.
• Travel to customer location if needed.
• Coordinate and document “Change Point Control”
• Checks data entry of Quality and Facility Checks and confirms by signature.
• Inform superior of abnormal conditions immediately
• Conduct 5S of assigned work area and teach team members.
• Train new Team Members on shift for extended periods of time
• Rotate staffing for complete training of all operators
• Perform Kaizen Activity on assembly line
• Complete daily reports and charting
• Train operators to standardize work
• Responsible for Quality and Safety of Assembly line
• Develop and support continuous improvement activities and improve company measurables
• Understand the process and run the assembly equipment
• Audit Standardized Work (Audit Plans, Use Check Sheet)
