- Responsible for motivating and encouraging Associates to participate in teamwork, kaizen completion, and other team building/productivity improvement activities.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining all work instructions and manuals.
- Assists the Manager with coordinating available manpower when Associates are absent to ensure all PC activities are completed.
- Coordinates the training of new, transferred, and temporary Associates. Maintains on-the-job training records for all Associates.
- Answers Associate questions, resolves concerns, conducts performance appraisals, administers discipline, and manages Associate relations within the department.
- Ensures parts, tools, and supplies are available for daily operations.
- Oversees equipment to ensure it is functional, well-maintained, and compliant with safety codes. Makes minor repairs when necessary and communicates with the Maintenance Department for technical issues.
- Maintains product identification system, including control of product identification tags and CID# system.
- Maintains finished goods storage locations.
- Ensures all safety rules are observed and compliance with TS-16949 requirements.
- Works to meet labor plan goals.
- Assists the Supervisor with analyzing dock audit data and customer shipping concerns.
- Ensures all work areas meet 5S standards.
- May fill in for the Supervisor in their absence and perform additional duties as assigned.
Quality / Environmental Roles and Responsibilities:
- Follows all procedures and work instructions, making recommendations for process improvements. Notifies Leader immediately of any non-conformances.
- Records all non-conformances to ensure corrective and preventive actions are taken and assists in problem-solving.
- Practices DMNC’s Quality and Environmental Management Systems and actively contributes to achieving and maintaining TS-16949 and ISO-14001 standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Education Required:
- Associate’s degree or High School diploma or equivalent, with 2-3 years of experience.
- Previous leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Working Conditions:
Combination of plant and office environment. Safety glasses required. May need to move, lift, or carry objects up to 35 lbs. Standing and walking most of the time.
