Job summary

Garmin is seeking a full-time Team Leader Core Engineering at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area.

You will lead the EAA team to administer and maintain development support tools, recruit and develop staff, and drive platform modernization to boost developer productivity. The role requires a strong track record in engineering leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to guide cross-functional teams through complex tool implementations and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related Engineering or technical discipline AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in an electronics design or engineering environment.
• Excellent academics ( GPA >= 3.0 ).
• Demonstrated experience leading a technical team as a first-line manager with coaching and performance management.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication with stakeholders, customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Experience documenting processes, developing training materials, educating users, and promoting adoption of new technologies.
• Experience gathering requirements and working with engineering teams to deliver solutions.
• Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and lead fast-paced work.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and lead the Engineering Applications Administration (EAA) team.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop team members through coaching and mentoring.
• Lead modernization and consolidation of engineering tools to improve productivity.
• Collaborate with Garmin teams to improve cross-functional communication and track information.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence of tools.
• Establish governance, standards, and best practices for consistency and quality.
• Align team priorities, resources, and budgets with business objectives.
• Lead platform upgrades, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
