Job summary

Garmin seeks a dedicated Team Leader Software Engineering to direct a software engineering team at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. You will guide the development of product families, oversee design reviews, and drive milestones using Garmin’s development processes.

Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, recruiting and evaluating staff, and ensuring high-quality software delivery. Strong expertise in C, C++, C#, or Java is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR minimum of 10 years relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of C, C++, C#, and/or Java.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate activities of a Software Engineering team responsible for product development.
• Lead design reviews and ensure coverage of topics, imparting best practices.
• Create product development plans and ensure milestones are met.
• Monitor progress and coach team members; recruit, interview, hire, and evaluate staff.
• Coordinate software requirements and designs per Garmin’s methodology.
• Ensure alignment with product development plans and market requirements.
