Job Title : Team Leader, Clean Energy, 2nd Shift

The Manufacturing Team Leaders play a critical role by managing daily priorities of the team, coaching, and training employees, assisting in implementing new processes or equipment, and being an advocate for change and improvement. The team lead has a direct impact on the success of the business every day.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze manufacturing and sales order data daily to determine issues, set priorities, and personnel assignments in multiple manufacturing cells.

Produce or inspect parts on the manufacturing floor, as required, to ensure production schedule is met while meeting quality expectations.

Collect data and identify pain points in manufacturing, and provide feedback to quality, and engineering. Suggest and implement ideas to improve cost and quality.

Manage the completion of continuous improvement projects assigned by the Value Stream Manager to achieve the expected performance outcomes.

Monitor and report on employee performance and potential disciplinary actions up to a memorandum for record.

Drive actions to resolve customer complaints with Quality

Creating a culture of responsibility and ownership

Training of multiple job functions to maintain a high level of group competency

Identifying issues with manufacturing documentation and working with engineering to make the required changes.

Managing a high mix and high volume production environment

Rapid fluctuations in demand with 12-14 week visibility.

Success in this role is measured by the following outcomes:

100% of safety opportunities and safety projects completed on time.

Completing 99% of work order on time to the manufacturing schedule.

Group competency maintained at 100% to latest manufacturing standards.

Reduce manufacturing non conformance by 50% in three years.

Technical Knowledge/Skills:

Lean Manufacturing

Manufacturing processes and inter-departmental relationships

Problem Solving

Required Experience:

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent

A minimum of 5 years working in a manufacturing environment outside of Mott or a minimum of 3 years at Mott.

Prior experience in a leadership role.

Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean methodologies.

Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing documentation.
