Job summary

Qualifications

Job Description

AstheTeam LeaderBusiness Continuityat Wellmark, you will lead the strategy, planning, testing, and execution of enterprise business continuity programs that ensure the organization can continue serving members, providers, and business partners through any disruption. Whilemaintainingcore continuity and crisis management capabilities, this role will also help drive the evolution of business continuity from a traditional facility and recovery-focused model to one centered on end-to-end business processes, technology ecosystems, and enterprise operational resilience. As technology, workflows, and service delivery models continue to evolve, you will partner across the organization to understand critical business processes, map operational and technology dependencies, assess emerging risks, and build resilience into the systems and workflows that support the business. From workforce and workplace recovery to complex digital business operations, you will play a key role in preparing the organization for the disruptions of today and the challenges of tomorrow.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of business continuityexpertise, leadership capability, and strong technicaland operationalacumen. You understand how modern business services are delivered through interconnected systems, applications, vendors, and workflows, and you canidentifyvulnerabilities and points of failure before they become business risks. You are comfortable engaging with technology andall levels ofbusiness leaders, asking thoughtful questions, challenging assumptions, and translating complex operational and technical dependencies into practical continuity strategies. Experience supporting continuity, resiliency, risk management, or operational readiness in a technology-driven environment is highly valued, along with the ability to analyze end-to-end process flows and assess system, vendor, and operational risks. In addition to your technical and strategic capabilities, you are a collaborative leader who can influence stakeholders, coach others, and drive enterprise-wide preparedness efforts. Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree or direct and applicable work experience.
• 4+ years of experience administrating business continuity programs, with the workforce and workplace resiliency being top of mind; and experience with risk management to identify and analyze risk followed by recommendations on how to mitigate the risk.
• Exceptional business knowledge and perspective to understand complex information to develop recommendations; proven ability to collect and analyze data to identify solutions.
• High level of attention to detail and organization skills, completing tasks accurately to achieve the specified goal.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; develops and maintains strong relationships with clients (Wellmark members/ groups, internal stakeholders and external stakeholders) by listening to the client/customer and understanding and responding to identified needs possibly through presentations suited to the need of the audience.
• Leadership skills typically gained through a combination of project or informal leadership that demonstrates knowledge of work processes, services, or leadership competencies. Ability to effectively coach and mentor others and lead teams through change.
• Ability to manage and deliver large scale and complex projects measured on quality, time and budget.
• Must be available 24/7 to respond to security/emergency situations.
• Valid driver's license. Travel required between 10-20% and carries on-call responsibilities.

Additional Information

• a. Leadership & Development: Provide leadership and day-to-day management of financial and human resources, primarily focusing on employee coaching, development, performance improvement, coordination and budgeting for staff and department(s) specific functions/services. Support business objectives and produce results that are effective, accurate, timely, and on target to meet business and stakeholder needs.
• b. Ensure company policy, procedures, and programs are properly executed within corporate guidelines and culture to support the workforce. Analyze, develop, monitor, and implement policies and programs to effectively reduce risks to the workforce and the Company. Provides management reports, recommendations and briefings as directed.
• c. Assess, recommend, implement, maintain and serve as the SME for business continuity functions, systems and procedures, including Fusion and Everbridge, business continuity response protocols/plans and other systems to protect the workforce and company assets.
• d. Leads the collaboration with the Privacy and Compliance Offices to support policies and procedures that are related to the Business Continuity processes.
• e. Provide leadership and direction in analyzing business requirements and developing business continuity solutions to meet business, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
• f. Coordinate all I/S business continuity plans and activities with I/S and Risk Management to ensure standardization of business continuity processes across business units.
• g. Ensure the Annual Business Continuity functions are completed by the leadership prescribed deadlines. This includes the Business Impact Analysis (BIAs) and the routine plan maintenance functions.
• h. Develop/create and implement Business Continuity/Crisis exercises to properly test department and enterprise level Business Continuity plans.
• i. Train and mentor Business Continuity Plan Owners, maintainers, and coordinators. Develop and provide training modules that will help guide plan participants through the annual process and Fusion systems.
• j. Help coordinate and provide leadership for the Enterprise Business Continuity and Crisis Management teams and operations collaborating and partnering with all departments and locations to ensure the company has the proper response and resources to manage any crisis that will have an adverse effect on our day-to-day business.
• k. Ensure business continuity plans(s) are tested at least annually or whenever significant changes are made.
• l. Other duties as assigned.
