Precision Fuzing and Sensors in Middletown, CT is seeking a Team Leader, Assembly Operations to supervise the assembly team, oversee production scheduling, and ensure quality compliance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of related experience.
  • Broad understanding of manufacturing methods, techniques and processes; ability to read/interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Basic math skills and ability to work with drawings, specifications, charts and measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan manpower needs and fill deficiencies with consultation with Group Leader.
  • Monitor and analyze production processes to ensure work orders are followed and takt time is achieved.
  • Interface with assembly test and support groups to optimize work and manpower loading.
  • Support development and control of EAC program budgets; identify quality issues and develop resolutions.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication within and between groups to address problems.

Team Leader Assembly Operations

Precision Fusing and Sensors is actively hiring for a Team Leader, Assembly Operations in Middletown, CT. This role is key in our manufacturing operations, leading and supervising assembly team members, ensuring performance and quality compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have a supervisory background in general assembly or manufacturing production. The Group Leader Assembly Operations will be working under the direction of the Team Leader, overseeing production scheduling, tool maintenance, and monitoring production processes.

Responsibilities
  • Plan for manpower needs and fill deficiencies as needed, with consultation with Group Leader.
  • Monitor and analyze production process within Team to ensure work orders are followed properly, takt time is being achieved and required paperwork is completed appropriately. Work with Group Leaders to address issues.
  • Interface with other assembly test and support groups to optimize work and manpower loading.
  • Support the development and control of manufacturing EAC Program budgets. Identify quality issues in production process; assist in the development and implementation of resolution and prevention.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication within and between functional groups/management to address problems and obtain resolution.
  • Plan and determine manpower requirements based on forecasts.
  • Plan and monitor cost control by scheduling appropriate use of manpower through the balancing of production needs with overtime requirements.
  • Oversee the development and revision of assembly and production procedures.
  • Maintain high standard of performance expectations from employees through appropriate evaluations and training such that the assigned functions demonstrate continuous improvement and compliance to standards.
  • Perform Employee Performance Appraisals and provide input for merit increase. Maintain properly cross-trained staff to support production needs in accordance with company policy.
  • Prepare and complete product quotes and estimates to complete requests.
  • Lead and/or participate in process improvement efforts to address or enhance program quality, cost and scheduling.
  • Assure coordination and integration of workflow with continuous improvement through lean activities. Support Company initiatives including ISO 9000 and Statistical Process Control (SPC) ensuring continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and products.
  • Support all environmental and safety standards. Set standards for a safe work environment and provide leadership in the prevention of damaged goods.
  • Provide quality engineering and manufacturing engineering functions, contractual data requirements list (CDRL) items, periodic customer reviews, engineering change proposals, waivers/deviations, non-conforming material and procurement quality flow-down required to satisfy customer requirements for scheduled shipments.
  • Maintain and monitor visual systems that support the programs, work with support departments to improve Company systems and increase performance.
  • Interview, hire, appraise and develop, if necessary, department personnel in accordance with company policies, federal and state laws.
  • Guide subordinate group leaders in personnel related issues.
  • Maintain adequately trained staff. Aid management in establishing and maintaining departmental procedures for compliance with quality standards, company policy and procedures, ISO standards and contract requirements, etc.
  • Support the enforcement of standards, policies and procedures.
  • Must have ability to travel, as required.
  • Perform special projects and other duties, as assigned.
  • Responsible for more than 2 up to and including 10 people.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 5-7 years of related experience required.
  • Broad understanding of manufacturing methods, techniques and processes and ability to read/interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Use of basic math skills together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, and types of measuring equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and associated software such as word processing and spreadsheet applications as required.
  • Moderate physical demand consisting of frequently (Over 40% and up to 70%) lifting or moving average weight over 25 lbs. of material.

Shift: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:30a-3:00p
