Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA in Warren, OH is seeking a Team Leader to ensure safe, productive operations on a designated shift. You will supervise a production crew, uphold schedules, coordinate with maintenance, and ensure quality standards are met across all processes.

• Minimum seven years in a machine operation role.
• 1–2 years of supervisor experience preferred.
• Certifications: Crane and Forklift.
• Valid Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Receives and disseminates instructions from Supervisor or other Senior Managers.
• Perform production tasks, troubleshooting, minor equipment maintenance or setup.
• Train group members and participate in performance appraisal process.
• Maintain production schedules and ensure quality standards are met.
• Facilitate communication between management and operators.
• Enforce processing procedures and policies.
• Ensure completion of safety documentation and operational records.
• Keep a clean and safe work area.

We are currently searching for a Team Leader for our Warren location.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift, crew or function
• Receives and disseminates written and verbal instruction, direction and training from Supervisor or other Senior Managers
• Spends more than twenty percent of time performing production tasks similar to those of other group members, and usually does troubleshooting, minor equipment maintenance or setup, etc.
• Trains group members and may participate in performance appraisal process.
• Operates from a broad scope of responsibility to maintain production schedules and to ensure quality standards are met
• Enables effective communication between management and operators.
• Enforce processing procedures and policies.
• Ensures completion operational documentation for assigned group; such as travelers, map sheets, job router, work requests to other departments, etc.
• Ensures completion of safety documentation for assigned group; such as first reports of injury, environmental mishaps, JSA’s, etc
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.
• Monitors and ensures shipments are loaded and rigged properly.
• May assist in the hiring process.
• May serve as point of contact for customers and/or vendors; could include running machines as needed for customer demands.

Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge:

• Seven Years of experience in a specific machine operation; One to two years of supervisor experience is preferred
• Certifications: Crane and Forklift – in-house training provided to obtain certification
• Valid Driver’s license
• Able to use computer, hand tools, and other tools specific to work area
• Able to properly use safety equipment: Hard hats, safety boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, PPE specific to job function
