Job summary

Ryder is hiring Team Leaders in Tarboro, North Carolina. The role oversees warehouse operations on first/second shift, ensuring safe, efficient handling of electronic repair parts and distribution tasks in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead a team, coordinate picking, packing, shipping, and forklift activities, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining strong safety standards and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• 1+ year warehouse experience preferred.
• RF scanner knowledge/experience required (advanced).
• Valid forklift operator's license required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective leadership skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and independently.
• Bilingual (For Québec locations only)

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.
• Perform warehouse function including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize daily work duties to team members for optimal shift operations.
• Inspire and guide team members to improve KPIs using appropriate leadership styles.
• Provide orientation and necessary information, technology, and tools to employees for their jobs.
• Promote health and safety practices within the warehouse.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Complete and submit daily reports and propose actions to improve operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Warehouse Positions Pay Weekly

• Hourly Pay: $21.50 per hour
• Overtime Pay: $32.25 hourly when working overtime
• Shift Premium: $0.50 per hour whe working 2nd shift
• Schedule: First Shift Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm or 2nd shift 3:00pm-11:00pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred
• One (1) year or more previous experience as Team Lead preferred
• One (1) year or more Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred
• One (1) year or more previous warehouse experience preferred
• Knowledge and/or experience with an RF scanner advanced required
• Valid forklift operator's license certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Effective leadership skills

• Inspire and guide team members towards improved Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s) using the appropriate leadership styles and methods.
• Assist in proving appropriate orientation for employees and give them the necessary information, technology and tools to perform their jobs.
• Assist with promoting health and safety working methods within the warehouse.
• Deal with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
• Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
