Job Description
Team Leader directs all day‑to‑day plant activities consistent with company schedules and policies, monitors and coordinates effective communication to Assistant Team Leaders and employees, administers company policies and practices, and implements Berry Global values to help achieve the company’s vision.
Position Responsibilities
- Administers and manages the plant operations safety and quality programs.
- Promotes a teamwork philosophy.
- Coaches work teams and develops decision‑making criteria using best practices.
- Assists in selection, training, evaluations, and promotion of work team employees.
- Attends meetings as necessary.
- Participates in process improvement efforts and directs process personnel daily.
- Incorporates ISO principles into daily quality culture (e.g., S.O.S. checklists).
- Builds work team self‑sufficiency by transferring non‑manufacturing skills.
- Checks PM list and ensures completion.
- Prepares daily shift reports.
- Assumes other duties as defined by the Production Supervisor.
- Conducts daily and monthly shift meetings with production staff.
- Collects die shim and job change planning sheets and enters data.
- Tracks machine time.
- Collaborates daily with maintenance personnel to schedule equipment changes and maintenance.
- Prioritizes rework material for teams.
- Tours production floor daily to create a list of SQF tasks.
- Engages in continuous improvement and innovative thinking.
- Coaches, mentors, evaluates, and develops team members.
Safety Responsibilities
- Accountable for employee safety through active engagement and clear communication of safe work expectations.
- Investigates line/equipment stoppages due to perceived safety risk.
- Completes responsibilities according to organization policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Leads risk assessment activities and drives corrective actions to reduce risks.
- Conducts required safety meetings (pre‑shift, department, change management, general communication, town hall).
- Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implements corrective actions.
- Ensures proper training and development of assigned employees.
- Sets and achieves safety goals for the unit.
- Motivates and coaches employees with frequent performance feedback and coordinate additional training as needed.

- Team‑management style with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Sound administrative skills with previous management or supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication skills (computer, verbal, written, presentation).

- Excellent attendance and safety records.
- Knowledge of ISO and SQF policies.
