Job summary

Case Paper is seeking a Shift Team Leader to monitor sheeting, cutting, slitting and warehousing on the production floor in High Point, NC. The role may involve hands-on operation and forklift/clamp truck use to support production, warehouse, and shipping activities.

You will lead the shift, ensure safe operations, and secure the facility at shift end. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential to meet production schedules and maintain safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of warehouse experience.
• 3+ years forklift experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Experience with AS400 system preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, dependability, accountability, and consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Be a responsible and trusted leader capable of working with limited supervision and making sound decisions during the shift.
• Be responsible for properly closing and securing the facility at the end of the shift, including confirming employees have completed work and equipment is left in a safe condition.
• Take ownership of shift performance, following issues through to resolution or escalating as needed.
• Be willing and able to operate forklifts and clamp trucks and assist with production, warehouse, shipping, and receiving activities.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to direct employees and hold the team accountable.
• Maintain a hands-on, floor-first leadership approach and be willing to step into any area necessary to support the operation.
• Have strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate information in AS400 and related systems.
• Be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel, or quickly become proficient.
• Maintain and enhance strong industrial safety performance including forklift operation and personal safety gear.
• Align personnel based on priorities, skills, and production schedule.
• Initiate work orders on equipment issues and communicate with the manager.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and policies; communicate with management.
• Assign work and manage employees based on priorities.

Position Summary:

The Shift team Leader will monitor all activities related to sheeting, cutting, slitting and warehousing along with some aspects of shipping and receiving in the plant. The team leader ensures a safe, organized plant which can meet the needs of the Case Paper Sales and production schedule. The shift Lead, at times, may be hands on and may briefly operate converting equipment, drive forklifts or clamp trucks or adjust operating equipment. This position will be on the production floor.

• Be a responsible and trusted leader capable of working with limited supervision and making sound decisions during the shift.
• Be responsible for properly closing and securing the facility at the end of the shift, including confirming employees have completed work, equipment and work areas are left in a safe condition, appropriate shutdown procedures are followed, and the building is secured.
• Take ownership of shift performance, following issues through to resolution or ensuring they are properly communicated and escalated before leaving the facility.
• Be willing and able to operate forklifts and clamp trucks and actively assist with production, warehouse, shipping, and receiving activities.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to direct employees and hold the team accountable.
• Maintain a hands-on, floor-first leadership approach and be willing to step into any area necessary to support the operation.
• Have strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate information and transactions within AS400.
• Be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel, or demonstrate the ability to quickly become proficient.
• Maintain and enhancestrong industrial safety performance including forklift operation, personal safety gear, unsafe employee behavior, and strong working relationships with plant management.
• Aligning personnel based on priorities, employee skills, and the production schedule.
• Initiate work orders on equipment issues and communicate with the manager.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and policies. Communicate with management.
• Assign work and managing employees based on priorities, and management or filling in where needed.
• Interact with management to resolve problems, yield issues or quality issues that arise.
• Maintain a culture of safety, accuracy and efficiency.
