Job summary

Zoox in Phoenix is seeking a Team Lead for Vehicle Operations (1st Shift) to guide a team of Vehicle Operators in safety-focused, high-performance testing and operations.

You will oversee day-to-day coaching, timesheet reviews, and cross-functional collaboration with program management, vehicle engineering, and go-to-market teams to meet short- and long-term objectives. The role is on-site 7am-4pm, Tuesday-Saturday, with a strong emphasis on mentoring staff to Zoox standards.

About The Role

Team Lead For Vehicle Operations

Zoox has embarked on a highly ambitious journey to develop an autonomous mobility solution, built from the ground up. As our Vehicle Operations team develops and scales, so does the challenge of understanding operations data, ensuring effective communication between development and operations, and informing key decisions to scale the organization successfully. In this role as the Team Lead for Vehicle Operations, you will lead a team of Zoox Vehicle Operators who are field experts in tools, features, and functions related to Vehicle Operator workflows. You will coordinate and streamline processes to ensure your team meets short- and long-term targets while maintaining Zoox's high standards for all software and hardware tests. As a hands-on leader, you will work daily alongside your team, setting an example of discipline and safety to accomplish the mission. This role also involves close collaboration with other leaders within the Vehicle Operations organization and interaction with multiple cross-functional teams, including program management, strategy, vehicle engineering, and go-to-market teams.

Shift: 1st Shift // 7am - 4pm // Tuesday - Saturday

In this role, you will:

• Support vehicle operators in day-to-day operations while upholding a safety-centric, inclusive, open-communication culture.
• Complete all administrative tasks related to team management, including but not limited to timesheet approval, expense reports, schedule validation, and regular written and oral performance feedback with direct reports and contingent workforce personnel.
• Work closely with other Team Leads and Program/Project Managers within Vehicle Operators to ensure their team stays aligned with Zoox's overall goals.
• Become a subject matter expert on Zoox's proprietary Vehicle Operations software, and motivate and mentor direct reports and contingent workforce personnel to execute and deliver to Zoox's high standards.
• Interact with contingent workforce personnel and management assigned to your team at Zoox to answer questions, provide information, and ensure they understand and execute their job assignments.
• Conduct recurring testing, with a priority on safety, to ensure you stay up-to-date with the current state of Vehicle Operations.
• Be metric-focused, collaborating with both product and program management teams to drive process and product improvements to mature both local and organization-wide operations

$96,000 - $116,000 a year Base Salary Range There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
