Job Description

Business Title: Team Lead – Trade Contract

Global Function: Business Services

Global Department: Global Trade Execution

Reporting to: Team Lead - Trade Contract

Role Purpose Statement: Will be responsible for full operational control and end-to-end contract entry and issuance activities. He is responsible for people management encompassing the end-to-end processes of talent acquisition, talent optimization, and talent retention while providing continued support for the business and guidance for the employees of an organization. Able to champion the workload distribution to efficiently deliver the Global KPIs of Trade Contract. This role requires end-to-end visibility of commodity value chains to holistically define/change the operation model as and when required.

Main Accountabilities:

  1. Support and share insight on the Budget planning.
  2. Monitor daily contract entry and issuance to meet Global KPIs across all value chains.
  3. Ensure global projects like CLM, DocuSign, and SENDA are successfully managed, rolled out, and implemented in the team.
  4. Impart domain knowledge to the team to build a pool of subject matter experts (SMEs).
  5. Handle and resolve critical issues and propose solutions.
  6. Provide support in process transitions and work on process stabilization, have well-defined control processes, SOPs, and KPIs.
  7. Lead and provide guidance to the team to effectively communicate and handle all day-to-day operational activities with various stakeholders.
  8. Handle succession planning, identify training needs, and work on resource development to build a self-reliant and efficient team.
  9. Liaison with legal and compliance on critical issues that require special attention/exceptions and ensure timely resolution.
  10. Accountable for tracking performance and driving best-in-class KPIs.
  11. Review third-party issued contracts to ensure Bunge risk is well covered.
  12. Ensure document retention in accordance with Company’s policies and procedure requirements.
  13. Perform Month End Checks for Team and ensure accounting queries are resolved within the agreed deadline.
  14. Work in coherence to achieve self and team goals.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Preparing monthly reports and scorecards.
  2. Manage work allocation and leave plans of the team.
  3. Ensure control mechanisms and compliance checks are always in place.
  4. Ensure SOX and other statutory requirements are met and clean audit reports.
  5. Ensure close coordination with the team to have smooth closure of month-end activities.
  6. Identify and propose ways of process improvement as per industry-leading practices.
  7. Help in designing the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tool as per organizational requirements.
  8. Manage change in CLM and ensure new changes are implemented.
  9. Lead User Accessibility Testing (UAT).
  10. Handle exceptions generated, perform root cause analysis to resolve current issues and act proactively to avert potential issues in the future.
  11. Provide guidance and support to the team, knowledge sharing, and best practices for talent optimization and retention.

Technical:

  1. Relevant experience in handling entry and issuance of commodity contracts for bulk and container shipments of Agri-commodities, with good knowledge of GAFTA, FOSFA contracts’ rules.
  2. Good knowledge of concepts and procedures related to the contract lifecycle of commodity contracts and execution, related terms & guidelines, including expertise in Incoterms, logistics, and shipping documents.
  3. Ability to work independently, efficiently and deliver high-quality output under time pressure.
  4. Experience in managing people and processes through a sustained period of change.
  5. Strong written & oral communication skills in English. Knowledge of any other foreign languages will be an added advantage.
  6. Computer proficient and competent in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  7. Experience in working with SAP system.

Education & Experience:

  1. 5-7 years of work experience in a similar role or with an International Commodity company.
  2. Minimum Education Qualification – Graduation, Post-graduation or MBA in International Business would be an advantage.
  3. Relevant experience in handling commodity contracts with good knowledge of GAFTA, FOSFA contract rules is desirable.
