Job summary

Dover Food Retail in Richmond, VA is seeking a Team Lead for Tank & Canopy on the 2nd shift to supervise manufacturing teams and drive daily performance.

You will implement 6S, lead Kaizen activities with manufacturing engineering, and ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals are met through PDCA cycles.

Strong leadership, problem solving, and willingness to work onsite are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years related experience.
• Basic computer experience with MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, AS400 or similar system knowledge.
• AS400 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct manufacturing teams.
• Drive SQDC and Lean responsiveness.
• Conduct daily board (huddle) meetings on area performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
• Improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
• Use PDCA to analyze and resolve work problems.
• Back up for group workers as needed.
• Prepare and execute daily start-up plans.
• Maintain cross-functional training matrix.
• Participate with manufacturing engineering to ensure on-time delivery through Kaizen processes.
• Coordinate level-load scheduling and material scheduling to avoid line shortages.
• Maintain 6S and operator checklists; sustain standard work procedures.
• Sustain visual boards and controls; resolve problems and maintain efficiency.
• Read and understand job specifications; use tape measure understanding fractions/decimals.
