Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking an experienced Radiographer III to perform diagnostic imaging under physician protocol, providing compassionate age-specific care from neonates to geriatrics, and supervising team members in the supervisor's absence.

You will support department operations, ensure safety and quality, participate in readiness for regulatory bodies, maintain Kronos timekeeping, schedules, PACS QA, and contribute to a learning environment within Radiology.

Responsibilities

  • Uses administrative skills to support Radiology operations.
  • Provides intermittent supervision to staff in supervisor absence.
  • Maintains compliance with DNV standards and licensing/education requirements.
  • Manages Kronos timekeeping and modality scheduling.

A Brief Overview

Performs diagnostic imaging at the direction of physician protocol. Provides compassionate age-specific care to patients from neonates through geriatrics. This position exists to serve as an experienced contributor, with responsibility for advanced work in their professional area. This includes the indirect and direct supervision of team members, along with assisting and/or acting as the Supervisor of the area.

What You Will Do
  • This position performs all of the functions of a Radiographer III, along with the additional responsibilities listed.
  • Uses administrative skills to contribute to the successful operations of the department of Radiology.
  • Provides intermittent direct and indirect supervision of employees in an assigned area to provide support in the supervisor absence. To ensure safe and efficient operations of the department. Demonstrates successful patent/technical skills by producing a variety of radiological procedures while maintaining the high standards of patient care.
  • Collaborates effectively with co-workers and staff to ensure that assignments are completed in a professional and effective manner. Displays a commitment to hospital’s missions and values.
  • Assists with preparing written documentation as required by the profession, department, hospital and accrediting bodies. Assists supervisor with ODH, MQSA, and DNV readiness. Participates in the inspection process.
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of department and associated work areas in compliance with DNV standards.
  • Assists supervisor in maintains licensure and continuing education requirements of staff. Preserves support for the learning environment of the hospital and the department of Radiology.
  • Performs timekeeping edits in Kronos, as needed, and approvals in the supervisors’ absence.
  • Maintains modality schedule, PTO requests, staffing to volumes in conjunction with the supervisor.
  • Responsible for PACS Tech QA and follow up of reporting patterns to the supervisor. Requests and assists the maintenance of supplies necessary for department operations.
  • Provide direction and guidance for departmental workflows.
  • Capable of assuming duties of Supervisor, as needed.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
