Job summary

UH Radiography at University Hospitals performs a variety of diagnostic procedures producing high quality studies and ensures that the processing of these images meets established quality standards. Staff maintain imaging equipment, assist with inspections, and ensure PHI compliance and privacy policies are followed.

The department emphasizes RIS/PACS competency, documentation, scheduling, and collaboration with management to support quality patient care and regulatory readiness.

• Performs a variety of diagnostic procedures producing high quality studies and assures that the processing of these images meets established quality standards.
• Prepares written documentation as required by the profession, department, hospital, and accrediting bodies. Assists manager with ODH, MQSA, and Joint readiness. Participates and prepares in the inspection process.
• Maintains imaging equipment and other equipment in efficient operating order; contacts and reports malfunctions and need for repair to the Department Manager or appropriate vendor.
• Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of department and associated work areas in compliance with Joint regulations.
• Demonstrates competency in RIS/PACS, and monitors various reports. Evaluate and correcting any QC concerns.
• Maintenance of supplies necessary for the department operations.
• Supervises and directs daily activities of department’s technical, clerical, and support staff.
• Creates departmental staffing schedule for technical, clerical, and support staff while assuring department is staffed to volumes.
• Evaluates performance of staff and coaches as needed, Including annual reviews and competencies.
• Recruitment and retention of employees including on-boarding process.
• Conducts staff meeting.
• Conduct reviews and completes timecard, monitors productivity/OT/etc.
• Promotes teamwork by assisting in all other departmental needs.
• Assists manager with billing reconciliation, including Quadex, Cewl, and EBEW.
• Assist manager with operational and capital budgeting.
• Participates in committees as needed.
• Participates in departmental research as needed
