Job summary

MedStar Health in Maryland is seeking a Team Leader Peer Recovery Coach to support and mentor a team of Peer Recovery Coaches (PRC). You will guide boundaries, self-care, time management, professionalism, and ethics, while ensuring strong collaboration with SBIRT team and supervisors to drive program success.

You will help patients access addiction treatment services, coordinate with community providers, document encounters, and foster equity in care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Peer Recovery Specialist Certification by the State of Maryland.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a peer recovery coach.
• Active engagement in own recovery program with at least three years of personal recovery and abstinence with no relapse.
• Residency within the target population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach staff on performance and professional development; support SBIRT team and Supervisor.
• Ensure accurate documentation and reports; maintain electronic client files and data integrity.
• Assist patients in accessing substance abuse services and coordinating care with treatment facilities and community resources.
• Foster strong relationships with hospital teams and community providers to meet program goals and equity objectives.
