Overview

Responsibilities

The Patient Access Registration Team Lead is responsible for providing account registration, billing, and administrative support to internal and vendor departments. The duties include gathering and verifying current demographic information including insurance information; contacting insurance companies (as necessary); processing weekly billing; completing and submitting daily and monthly statistics.

  • Work and resolve the assigned unit(s) PBI worklists daily, to ensure timely follow-up on all holds, maintaining within the established “past due hold code duration” time.
  • Work and resolve the assigned unit(s) OBR edit reports and Data Repair 3 times per week, (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) to ensure quantity and timeliness of registrations.
  • Work and resolve unit(s) PBI worklists daily, to ensure timely resolution of all registration hold codes that are still not billed and sit in the “released bucket of unbilled A/R.”
  • Work and resolve claims manager reports for assigned unit(s) to ensure all edits are worked in a timely manner.
  • Work with leadership and department staff on specific unit issues, where established registration and billing guidelines are not being followed.
  • Assist supervisor with site/unit provisioning as needed.
  • Complete daily census validation.
  • Provide training to associates on job performance related issues as needed.
  • Responsible for completing quality audits as determined by leadership.
  • Participate in monthly telephone conference meetings with teams to allow best practice and other techniques to be shared.
Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • 2-4 years of healthcare related experience
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college; or equivalent combination of education & experience.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Ability to work on projects and meet the overall objective, ability to meet pre-determined deadlines.
  • Ability to supervise, counsel, train, and develop staff.
  • Ability to delegate assignments and follow through on details is essential.
  • Ability to be effective and efficient in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple competing tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent consumer relations skills required.

Software:

  • Proficient MS Excel, Word, and Windows.
  • Experience with OBR, Master Database, PBI, pMD, BBS, GPMS, NextGen preferred.
