Job summary

GEODIS is seeking an Ocean Export Team Lead to manage the workflow of a freight forwarding team in Humble, Texas. The role focuses on guiding employees, ensuring adherence to client SOPs, and coordinating with supervisors to resolve export-related issues.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience and strong MS Office skills, with the ability to analyze regulatory material and communicate effectively with management, clients, and carriers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Strong written and oral communication, with the ability to present information to groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

• Direct workflow of the employees within the account.
• Leads team per client SOPs.
• Monitors Entry Status Report and reviews rejected entries and Post Entry Work.
• Coordinates with Export/Import Supervisor to resolve issues.
• Assists team members in resolving issues with Customs, OGA, and Carriers.
• Monitors AP/AR discrepancies and addresses accounting issues.
• Enforces Ocean Export Policies and Procedures.
• Directs employee teams, including maximizing productivity, tracking labor hours, training staff, and conducting performance reviews.

Your role on the team:

• Directing workflow of the employees within the account
• Leads team per client SOP’s

• Assists in the enforcement of Ocean Export Policies and Procedures
• Directs employee teams, including maximizing team productivity, tracking labor hours, training staff, and performance reviews

What you need:

• High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalent
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manualsStrong written/oral communication, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work, while developing specific goals and plans to complete tasks

Bonus if you have:

• Experience with Cargowise a plus
• Customs Brokerage License preferred
• Ocean Freight Experience preferred
