Job summary

Solvias is seeking a Team Leader to build and lead the Microbiology function at our RTP, NC site. The role requires hands-on leadership to establish workflows, scale the team, allocate resources, and ensure GMP and HSE compliance in a GMP environment.

The incumbent will act as SME for microbiology methods including bioburden, sterility, endotoxin, and environmental monitoring, and will collaborate with the department director on QA and operations.

Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Life Sciences with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Or B.A./B.S. with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Experience in GMP/GLP environments.
• Experience in client management and CRO/CDMO context.
• Proven ability to build a new team and scalable lab operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee microbiology team operations and ensure GMP compliance.
• Train scientists and analysts; manage daily lab tasks.
• Lead method development, qualification, and validation.
• Support client projects and quotations with scientific input.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
