Job summary

Dover Corp is seeking a Materials Lead for the 2nd shift to oversee material handling and ensure efficient, safe operations for internal and external customers.

The role includes managing Material Handlers, prioritizing tasks, and supporting quarterly inventories while maintaining compliance with all policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to three years related experience and/or training.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Minimum 4 years warehouse experience.
• Warehouse supervisory experience preferred.
• AS400 experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.
• Self-motivated with sound judgment for unfamiliar work situations.
• Close attention to detail for accurate documents and data entry in AS400.

Responsibilities

• Oversee work assignments given to the Material Handlers and assist with short-term departmental objectives.
• Delegate job assignments and determine priorities based on available labor and workload.
• Ensure materials personnel perform duties safely and in compliance with guidelines.
• Communicate with management, traffic and shipping teams on accuracy, safety and housekeeping.
• Identify unsafe conditions and take corrective actions with supervision.
• Assist with problem solving for shipping personnel and scanning/case location questions.
• Plan for and execute quarterly physical inventories.
• Ensure daily trailer/case load targets are met and perform 6S audits.
• Operate lift truck or hand truck to move products as needed.
• Overtime and weekends may be required; perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Materials Lead for the 2nd shift, who is responsible for assisting with all materials delivered to our internal and external customers.

Oversee work assignments given to the Material Handlers and provide assistance towards determining and meeting short-term departmental objectives.

Delegate job assignments anddeterminepriorities based on available labor and workload.

Assure that Materials personnel execute job duties and demonstrate personal conduct in a manner that is compliant with all applicable guidelines, policies and procedures.

Takeappropriate actionswhen necessary toassure the efficientand compliant operation to our internal and external customers.

Communicates with department management, traffic and/or shipping associates and takes theappropriate actionin matterspertaining toaccuracy, safety, and housekeeping

Observe and communicate unsafe conditions to traffic and /or supervision and take corrective actions.

Provide assistance with problem solving for shipping personnel and other designees for scanning and case location questions.

Demonstrateabilityto adjust to changing demands and priorities on a constant basis.

Assistwith planning for and execution of quarterly physical inventories.

Ensure personnel meet or exceed the minimum number of trailers/cases loaded daily, performing root cause analysis when mistakes are discovered, and performing 6S audits.

Ensure company safety, quality and performance procedures are met in a safe,cleanand organized setting and offer recommendations to improve these standards.

Operate lift truck or hand truck to move products when necessary.

Occasional, and at times heavy, overtime and extended hours are required including weekends

Must be self-motivated and able todemonstratesound judgment when confronted with unexpected or unfamiliar work and/orpeoplesituations.

Close attention to detail isrequiredto assure the accuracy of documents, the proper storageand movement of materials, proper data entry intheAS400 computer systems, to correct potential unsafe or housekeeping conditions in the warehouse storage and work areas.

Strengths needed for this role:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds plus bending,twistingor lifting from awkward positions or in tight spaces, must be able to push and pull casesin excess of200lbs to 800lbs repetitiously.

While performing the duties of this job, the employeeis regularly required tostand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.

The employee isfrequentlyrequired to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employeeis occasionally required tosit, stoop, and/or kneel.
