Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking an Inventory and Purchasing Specialist to manage inventory levels and purchasing procedures for raw materials and supplies.

The role requires 3–5 years of related experience, a supervisory background preferred, and a High School Diploma or equivalent; SAP MM and Microsoft Office skills are essential. This onsite position at 89 Fenwood Rd/Brookline Ave offers a 40-hour week and a competitive pay range.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements.
  • Explores new materials, suppliers, and processes to improve quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery.
  • Establishes procedures and supervises annual physical inventory.
  • Supervises, evaluates, and coaches staff members.
  • Interfaces with product line coordinators on planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments.
  • Maintains relationships and negotiates with suppliers.
  • Purchases supplies and materials per specifications.
  • Ensures adherence to standard practices and procedures for all materials department functions.

Essential Functions
  • Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements.
  • Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery.
  • Establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory.
  • Supervises, evaluates, and coaches staff members.
  • Interfaces with product line coordinators on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments.
  • Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers.
  • Purchase supplies and materials in accordance with specifications.
  • Ensures that the company's standard practices and procedures are followed for all materials department functions.

Education

Experience Directly related experience 3-5 years required and Experience in a supervisory role 2-3 years preferred
