Job summary

Ground Guys is seeking a Landscaping Maintenance Team Lead to advance our crews and drive site quality and efficiency. You will lead field operations, oversee routes and scheduling, and ensure training for staff.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in landscaping, lawn service, or similar service industries will be critical to lead a team.
• Know your way around mowers, trimmers, tractors, etc.—how to operate plus preventative maintenance.
• Willing to complete training to get all required certifications and licenses within 6 months, if required.
• Clean driving history with experience driving a trailer.

Your Responsibilities as a Landscaping Maintenance Team Lead

• Manage the Field
  • You are quite literally the boots on the ground. You’ll be walking job sites, checking for quality control, and making sure equipment is maintained.
  • The team looks to you to keep things organized. You’ll help structure the routes, manage the employee schedules, and keep the crew members organized and on task.
  • The team looks to you for support. You find solutions for issues that come up among the staff. And you make sure that team members have the training they need.
  • You ensure everything is wrapped up and set to go for the next day.

• Attendance: This might sound basic, but it’s critical for the team lead to set the example in attendance for the rest of the team.
• Budget vs Actual Hours: Keeping jobs profitable is dependent on managing the time planned and spent at each job.
• Return Rates: You’ll ensure quality control to make sure it’s rare to ever need to go back to redo a job.
• Crew Retention: Ensuring a healthy team environment and keeping people accountable will help reduce turnover.

Job Requirements for Landscaping Maintenance Team Lead

Benefits & Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 to $23.00 and is dependent on your experience as a lawncare or landscaping professional as well as in leading a team.

Benefits: As a Team Lead, you will accrue 40 sick hours within the first year of employment. After a year, you can also accrue 40 hours of vacation in addition to your sick time. The following year, you will also qualify for 40 hours of holiday pay. For our Team Leads, after a year with our company, we also provide a Simple IRA with a 3% match, as well as a health allotment that can include a membership to Valley Immediate Care, dental and vision care.
