Job summary

The Grounds Guys of Longmont is seeking a hands-on team leader to keep jobs on schedule, crews on task, and customers satisfied across northern Colorado. This boots-on-the-ground role offers growth as the company expands.

You will walk sites daily, adjust routes, verify equipment, and support training while maintaining strong customer relationships and daily wrap-ups.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping or lawn care.
• Comfortable operating mowers, trimmers, and trailers.
• Clean driving record; ability to tow a trailer.
• Willing to obtain required certifications within 6 months.
• Clear communication and reliability.

Responsibilities

What You'll Own

This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role. You'll be the person keeping jobs on schedule, crews on task, and customers satisfied. Specifically:

• Walk job sites daily to verify quality and catch issues before the customer does
• Help build and adjust routes to keep the schedule tight and jobs profitable
• Ensure equipment is field-ready and preventative maintenance stays current
• Support crew members with training, accountability, and day-to-day problem solving
• Handle customer concerns directly and resolve them the same day when possible
• Close out each day so the next morning starts clean

How We'll Measure Your Success

• Attendance — You set the standard. The crew follows your lead.
• Budget vs. Actual Hours — You understand that profitability lives in the details. We use LMN for job costing and you'll be expected to use it.
• Return Rates — Quality control is your responsibility. Callbacks should be rare.
• Crew Retention — A good team lead keeps good people. You'll help build that environment.
• Customer Retention — Relationships matter. You'll know your regular customers by name.

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience in landscaping, lawn care, or a related outdoor services field
• Comfortable operating and maintaining mowers, trimmers, and trailers
• Clean driving record; experience towing a trailer required
• Willing to obtain required certifications and licenses within 6 months if not already held
• Someone who communicates clearly, follows through, and doesn't need to be chased

Pay and Benefits

$24–$28/hour depending on experience. Additional benefits coming as the company grows.
