Job summary

Schneider Geomatics is seeking a Team Lead for its Development (Construction) Services focused on post-design surveying. The role oversees project managers, ensures QA/QC, and drives business development with clients to secure new projects.

Ideal candidates have a related degree and 6–8 years of management experience, with LS registration preferred and strong communication skills. The successful candidate will supervise staff, coordinate with regional leaders, and contribute to division success

Qualifications

  • Industry-related Associate or Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • 6-8 years of progressive responsibility in management.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Registered LS, preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to analyze firm/project financial data as a tool in managing assigned team, projects, and supporting corporate goals.
  • Strong interpersonal, personnel management and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, team, and management.
  • Supervise project manager(s) who manage the daily project-related activities of staff members on assigned team to ensure project goals and client expectations are being met.
  • Assure the team’s adherence to the division’s QA/QC process.
  • Work with project manager(s) to assign, supervise and evaluate work and personnel within team.
  • Coordinate and mediate among team members to ensure that team is contributing to divisional success.
  • In a collaborative manner, coordinate with regional/operations managers as well as other team leaders to ensure that client needs are met and that team resources are optimally utilized.
  • Proactively participate in business development and marketing efforts in securing new clients and new projects from existing clients. Recommend additional in-depth corporate market analysis as appropriate.
  • Participation in business development efforts includes client visits, development of proposals, cost estimates and project schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of marketing material for their team. Assistance means responsibility to produce content while production of marketing material will be both others within Geomatics. The team leader functions as a team senior staff member as circumstances dictate, such as when an assigned team member is absent; or, when the team is too small to support team functions. This includes functioning in a project management or production capacity when needed to meet team needs, goals or deadlines.
  • Work with senior leaders in recruitment, staff development, and employee relations matters. (Recruitment of new team members, development plans/performance reviews, assessment of skills and training recommendations, compensation recommendations, employee relations matters, including terminations.)
  • Be a change agent by focusing on effectiveness, improvement, and development for your team, clients, and organization.
