Job Description

Perform duties to lead Closing Team in the visual inspection and shipping of finished standard and custom HVAC units, working within the limits of standard methods and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Work from computerized Quality Management System (QMS) components including production schedules, inventory records, pull lists, bills of materials, Engineering Change Notifications (ECN), diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Conduct start of shift team meetings to communicate schedules, priorities, safety and production issues, and other information necessary to ensure that all team members are aware of shift requirements and pending issues.
  • Consult production schedule, pull lists and bills of materials, and manually modify records in MRP system to move materials committed to future builds to orders currently in production, as required, to maintain work flow.
  • Assign work in accordance with production schedules, related material requirement, and standard procedures. Assist to resolve problems related to sub‑assemblies, installations, and schedule adjustments.
  • Report on material shortages and ensure that purchasing is made aware of immediate materials requirements that may impact the status of work in process and production schedules.
  • Perform any departmental work assignments to maintain work flow in Closing team functions. Work alongside team members to perform visual inspections, resolve DPU issues, install filters, heater access panels, and stormdecks, create and apply serial numbers to units, apply required labels and stickers, secure uninstalled components, perform final cleaning, secure and bolt doors and weight units in preparation for shipping.
  • Perform Final Shipping functions, working alongside team members to create packing lists, visually inspect closed units noting any nonconforming issues, document serial numbers, determine and validate unit destination with carrier driver, load units on specified trucks, validating details with driver and obtaining signatures for loads. Complete required shipping processes in specialty software. Forward required documents to Customer Service department for filing.
  • Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Consistently operate in keeping with all safety rules and requirements.
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Tools and Equipment

Use computer and related specialty systems software and peripherals, large oversized forklift, overhead crane, rigging fixture, hand and hand power tools, scale, and fixtures.
