Job summary

McFarlane Aviation is seeking a hands-on Team Lead - Assemblies in Baldwin City, KS. You will guide daily operations, coordinate production schedules, assign priorities, and ensure safety and quality as you lead assembly, fabrication, and cross-department collaboration.

You’ll mentor teammates, train for performance, and drive continuous improvement in a collaborative aviation environment. High school diploma or equivalent and technical assembly training are preferred.

• Experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or production environment.
• Previous leadership or team lead experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications or blueprints.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Willingness to train others and promote a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and Support Daily Operations.
• Coordinate production schedules to meet output goals efficiently.
• Analyze work priorities and assign tasks to maximize productivity.
• Monitor workstations for cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.
• Contribute to productivity metrics and priorities.
• Team Leadership & Training: motivate, guide, and provide feedback.
• Fabrication and Assembly: lead assembly and fabrication processes; support additional fabrication or kitting; perform in-process and final inspections.
• Cross Department Collaboration: communicate with sales, shipping, accounting, and engineering to support customer satisfaction and internal coordination.
• Consumables & Supplies Oversight: monitor, order, and manage expiration of consumables and supplies; train team members on storage, quality, and disposal.
• Quality and Safety Focus: enforce safety protocols, company policies, and quality standards; support continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and Support Daily Operations

  • Support additional product fabrication or kitting as needed.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure product quality.
• Cross Department Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with sales, shipping, accounting, and engineering to support customer satisfaction and internal coordination.

What You Bring

• Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for detailed work.
