Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with progressive leadership experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memos and reports.
  • Ability to write routine and non-routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong math skills including ability to calculate discounts, interest and percentages.
  • Capability to apply basic algebra and statistics.
  • Able to solve practical problems in variable situations.
  • Advanced computer and peripheral equipment skills.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in the use of Warehouse Management Systems.

JOB SUMMARY

Coordinates activities of workers engaged in a warehouse and distribution environment. Reviews workload and organizes resources to meet daily activity requirements. Analyzes and resolves work issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Proficient in the use of Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Addresses employee problems and recommends disciplinary action.
  • Coordinates and schedules personnel for training programs and facilitates cross-training of employees and work teams.
  • Provides written input and participates with Manager in performance reviews.
  • Responsible for workplace safety.
  • Assists in solving process problems and implements changes when necessary with the approval of the manager.
  • Assists in training personnel.
  • Coordinates team activities for shift operation.
  • Maintains staffing level based on work load requirements.
  • Assists Supervisor in other projects and duties as required.
  • Oversees overall operation of assigned area.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
  • Performs other duties when required that are outside of normal job duties.
  • May be asked to assist in other duties to ensure production needs are met in a timely manner.
SUPERVISION GIVEN/RECEIVED

Is supervised by the assigned Supervisor. Has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but will mentor and lead assigned employees. The Team Lead will also have input to employee disciplinary actions, plans to improve, and performance reviews as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one years of progressive leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write routine and non-routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to managers, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Advanced skills with computer and peripheral equipment.
  • Advanced ability to use database, word processing, spreadsheet, graphing and other software as specific to the department.
  • Operates copy machine, fax machine, scanner, telephone, voice mail, and FedEx Powership.
  • Exercises above-average verbal and written communication skills, is highly organized, and pays great attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and maintain a high degree of responsibility and confidentiality at all times.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Some college
  • Experience in contract manufacturing
  • 2-5 years progressive leadership experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear, and see. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with hands and arms. The environment is fast-paced; time pressured, and requires accuracy. The employee will regularly multi-task between projects, be required to move throughout the office building, and effectively communicate. The normal environment is quiet and typical of an open cubical setting with some areas that may be louder at times.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
