Illinois Tool Works, Inc. (ITW) in Decatur, AL is hiring a night-shift Focused Team Leader to drive production performance, safety, and Lean initiatives within the Sexton Division. You will monitor procedures, ensure goals are met, and lead a team through changeovers and line projects.

You will supervise personnel, sustain 5-S practices, and partner with Quality and Maintenance to resolve issues while maintaining attendance and performance standards across the shift.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED; 3 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Proven experience in production and personnel management, systems implementation, and continuous improvement.
• Hands-on skills with strong work ethic; excellent attendance.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure production goals are met and inform manager of interruptions.
• Close out shift with incoming team leaders and document performance.
• Lead Lean initiatives and promote 5-S; uphold safety policies and procedures.
• Facilitate changeovers and line projects; maintain housekeeping in Focus area.
• Support staffing, performance, and attendance management; assist in process improvements.

The Sexton business fits within the ITW Sexton Division and is a market leader in the manufacture of high‑pressure aerosol cans and is seeking a Group Team Lead on night shift for its Decatur, AL facility, located 30 minutes Southwest of the Huntsville area.

Job Description

Focused Team Leaders are responsible for the performance of a Focused Team on a specified shift, including quality, downtime, work efficiency, and enforcement of plant rules.

• Continuously monitoring standard operating procedures and constant communication with team members.
• Ensure and verify that production goals are being met and inform the Production Manager of any interruptions in the production process.
• Report at least 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the shift to ensure communication has been established and to set forth labor/production guidelines before the arrival of shift personnel.
• Close out shift by ensuring communication has been established with incoming Team Leaders and to verify that shift performance has been documented accurately and completely. This may require Team Leads to remain after scheduled end of shift.
• Promote and drive employee involvement in projects and initiatives.
• Lead Focus team's adherence to Environmental/Health/Safety initiatives, policies and procedures
• Facilitate changeovers and other line specific projects
• Lead Housekeeping throughout Focus team’s area
• Manage production/downtime/scrap reporting
• Managing use of visual displays and controls
• Support employee communication and documentation processes
• Support management of staffing, personnel performance and attendance
• Support production process improvement
• Facilitate Shift Safety Team meetings
• Promote and uphold 5‑S and other Lean production principles.
• Always wear standard personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work closely with the Focus Team Quality Tech and Maintenance Tech to support the team
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• The position requires a High School diploma or GED. Three years of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
• Proven experience in production and personnel management, systems implementation, and continuous improvement.
• Hands‑on skills, proven management ability, and sound work ethic are prerequisites.
• Must have excellent performance and attendance records.
