Job summary

CESO, Inc. is seeking an Architecture Team Lead in Columbus, OH to oversee design, coordination, and delivery of architectural documentation across complex projects.

You will manage production teams, set priorities, and ensure schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met, while mentoring staff and driving best practices. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, 8+ years of experience, and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Architecture or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a leadership or management role is preferred.
  • Registered Architect (RA) licensure is preferred.
  • NCARB Certification is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and daily timesheet entry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, coordination, and delivery of architectural construction documents.
  • Manage production teams, set priorities, and ensure schedules and budgets are met.
  • Oversee full lifecycle of projects from planning through construction documentation.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers on budgeting and staffing forecasts.
  • Provide guidance on design, code compliance, and QA reviews.
  • Act as liaison with clients, consultants, and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Review and approve architectural deliverables for accuracy.
  • Mentor team members and support professional growth.
  • Lead meetings and communicate project goals to stakeholders.

At CESO, an Architecture Team Lead brings advanced architectural expertise and leadership experience to oversee the design, coordination, and delivery of architectural construction documentation, specifications, and details across multiple complex projects. This position is responsible for managing production teams, setting priorities, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and company best practices. The Team Lead actively leads internal and external meetings, providing strategic input and technical guidance based on extensive experience, research, and industry knowledge. The Team Lead mentors and supports team members, fostering professional growth and collaboration, while also reviewing and approving architectural deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and consistency. In addition, the Team Lead leverages software and tools to evaluate and refine designs, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to high-level technical reports and project documentation.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for the team’s quality of work, productivity, and actions.
  • Direct and support production teams by assigning tasks, balancing workloads, and ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet technical and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of projects—from planning and design through construction documentation and administration—ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Discipline Leads on project budgeting, scheduling, staffing forecasts, and proposal development.
  • Offer expert guidance on design, code compliance, and technical problem-solving, including implementation of Quality Management Programs, QA reviews, engineering/architectural calculations, and documentation accuracy.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between internal teams, clients, consultants, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) to ensure project clarity, alignment, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Interpret and apply company, client, and jurisdictional requirements, standards and applicable codes to ensure all designs and documentation meet professional, legal and safety obligations.
  • Perform or coordinate site visits, field measurements, and construction observations to validate existing conditions and support construction administration.
  • Implement and uphold quality management processes, recommend design improvements, and contribute to the development of best practices and standards.
  • Lead meetings, document decisions, and clearly communicate project goals, updates, and changes to all relevant parties, including clients and senior leadership.
  • Supervising direct reports is a key responsibility of this job.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements

  • Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Newforma, Deltek, and Bluebeam Revu.
