About The Job

We aim to build a diverse faculty team with expertise in sexual and gender health, sex therapy, sexual health education, and human sexuality, passionate about educating future leaders in this field. Teaching Specialists report to the Director for Graduate Programs in CCAPS and typically teach one to two semester-length courses annually. Courses are mainly online, asynchronous, in 7 or 14-week sessions, with some synchronous student interactions.

Responsibilities
  1. Teach assigned courses according to university policies, employing effective practices like setting high expectations, providing clear instructions and feedback, maintaining regular contact, grading promptly, engaging students collaboratively, and submitting grades on time.
  2. Revise courses or provide input to stay current with disciplinary practices and support curriculum updates.
  3. Maintain discipline expertise and participate in professional development, community dialogue, self-assessment, and teaching reviews.
  4. Respond to student communications as needed.
  5. Collaborate with the Director of Graduate Studies and staff to resolve course or student issues requiring additional support.

We seek additional online instructors for courses in foundations of sexual health, sexual health education, sex therapy, and related topics. We especially welcome applicants who are AASECT certified Sex Educators, Sex Counselors, Sex Therapists, or approved Supervisors. This remote position offers flexibility and the opportunity to influence the student experience. Please note, this position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Master's degree
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience or 3 semesters of teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD or equivalent in a related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience or 5 semesters of teaching
  • Graduate teaching experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work with diverse groups
