Job summary

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs is seeking an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Human Physiology and Nutrition. This 9-month, non-tenure track appointment focuses on teaching, with some service and clinical elements, starting in August 2026.

Work involves coordinating with faculty to design a cohesive curriculum, delivering multiple lecture and lab sections, and mentoring students pursuing health-related professional schools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in human physiology, anatomy or related field required by Aug 2026.
• Terminal degree is preferred (MD/DO/PhD or equivalent).
• Professional or clinical service experience preferred.
• At least one year of physiology/anatomy/pathophysiology teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deliver an integrated curriculum linking foundational science to clinical applications.
• Maintain consistency and quality across lectures and labs each semester.
• Use diverse evidence-based teaching strategies and instructional technologies.
• Coordinate departmental advising and mentor students preparing for professional schools.
