Job summary

Wheaton College’s Film, Media, and Communications department seeks a Professor of the Practice of Digital Media and Communications (DMC) to start Fall 2027. The candidate will design and teach foundational and advanced courses, and shape the DMC major with a vision for its future.

Applicants from digital media, game studies, journalism, and data visualization welcome. The role is a full-time teaching position; leadership responsibilities may grow and contribute to Wheaton’s 4+1 in Creative

Qualifications

• MA with strong teaching or professional experience, MFA or PhD at appointment.
• Ability to design and teach introductory courses such as Intro to Digital Media and Communication and Creative Diversity.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses that support the Digital Media and Communications major.
• Teach three courses per semester with possible advising/administrative substitutions.
• Engage in service to the college and department after year one; may contribute to the 4+1 Masters program.
