The role supports primary-aged children with SEN, focusing on communication, learning, and emotional regulation within a specialist provision.

The school seeks a confident, initiative-taking team player who can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (or a childcare qualification suitable for working with children and young people).
• Recent, relevant experience supporting children with SEN or learning difficulties.
• A positive, patient and proactive approach.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Responsabilités

Hannett Hale Recruitment are working on behalf of a welcoming and supportive Primary School in the Carlisle area to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant for their Special Education Unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly experienced team who are dedicated to supporting primary-aged children with a range of learning difficulties and Special Educational Needs.

About the Role You will be working within a specialist provision, supporting pupils who require additional help with communication, learning, and emotional regulation. The team is extremely experienced, and the school is looking for someone who can slot in confidently, show initiative, and build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

This is a temporary supply role to work potentially until the end of the school year.

Requirements To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (or a childcare qualification suitable for working with children and young people)
• Recent, relevant experience supporting children with SEN or learning difficulties
• A positive, patient and proactive approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

All applicants must complete our full vetting and compliance process before being appointed. This includes:

• Enhanced DBS check
• Full registration and safeguarding checks in line with DfE guidelines

Location: Carlisle, Cumbria

Level 3 qualification in Teaching assistant, child care or Health and Social Care, experience of working in a Primary school and have experience of working and supporting children with SEN.
