Teaching Assistant Professor - General Business/KNEE Center for Regulatory Research - College of Business and Economics

Description

The Department of General Business at the John Chambers College of Business and Economics, West Virginia University, invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor - Scholarly Academic (TAP-SA) position. This is a full-time, 9-month, benefits-eligible, non-tenure-track appointment with an anticipated start date in January 2026. The position includes dedicated service to the KNEE Center for Regulatory Research.

Primary Responsibilities

Teaching (60%)

• Teach six three-credit courses per academic year (undergraduate and/or graduate), in both in-person and online formats, within the General Business Department, including but not limited to teaching in the Master of Business Administration programs (MBA, OMBA, HMBA)
• Utilize experiential learning techniques to enhance student engagement and academic success.
• Support curriculum development and academic innovation across General Business program offerings.

Research (20%)

• Engage in scholarly activities aligned with AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) standards.
• Contribute to the academic community through peer-reviewed publications and participation in academic conferences.
• Foster research that supports and complements the teaching mission of the department.

Service (20%)

• Actively contribute to the mission of the KNEE Center for Regulatory Research through regulatory-focused service and academic outreach.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service initiatives.
• Support student recruitment, retention, and placement efforts, as well as program development and industry engagement.

Qualifications

• A Ph.D. in, Business, Economics, or a closely related field is required by the time of appointment.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a record of scholarly publication are strongly preferred.
• Candidates must demonstrate commitment to student success, programmatic development, and academic service.
