Description

The John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University (WVU), an R1 research institution and AACSB-accredited college, invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor position in Entrepreneurship/Strategy. This full-time, non-tenure-track position is set to begin in August 2026.

Position Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach courses in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction to both large and small class sizes, contributing to student success and engagement.
  • Participate in service activities, supporting departmental, college, and university initiatives in line with the college’s mission.

This position emphasizes teaching (80%) and service (20%).

Qualifications

  • A master’s degree or higher (Ph.D. or DBA) in Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Management, or a closely related field is required.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and commitment to student success.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience teaching large-section undergraduate courses, though this is not required. More extensive experience will be viewed favorably.
  • A strong understanding of contemporary business challenges and opportunities, with a focus on critical thinking and experiential learning.

These qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

The John Chambers College of Business and Economics (B&E) was founded in November of 1951 and in 1954, became fully accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. B&E offers a Bachelor of Science in Economics (BSE) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with nine majors: Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, General Business, Global Supply Chain Management, Hospitality & Tourism, Management, Management Information Systems, and Marketing.
