Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a full-time Teaching Assistant Professor in Costume Technology. The successful candidate will teach a 3/3 load, with primary responsibility for draping and pattern making, and lab courses in the MFA Costume Production program.

Mentoring MFA students and supporting PlayMakers during production hours are key duties. In addition to teaching, the candidate may collaborate with PlayMakers Repertory Co.

Qualifications

• Must hold MFA in Costume Production or related discipline.
• At least three years of university/college or professional teaching experience.
• Strong skills in costume production, communication, collaboration, and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Teach a 3/3 load (six courses annually) with emphasis on draping and pattern making.
• Teach lab courses in MFA Costume Production program.
• Mentor MFA students and support PlayMakers during production hours in the costume shop.
• Liaise with KTC student designers and teach an undergraduate course as assigned.
