Job summary

ACCEPT Education Collaborative in Natick, MA is seeking dynamic Teaching Assistants to support students in middle and high school programs. You will work under the direction of the Special Education teacher and Behavior Specialist to assist with classroom instruction, track student progress, and help create a supportive learning environment.

Starting pay is competitive and includes professional training and ongoing support.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience working with children and/or young adults.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Safety Care certified or willing to obtain certification.
  • Team player and dependable.

Responsibilities

Job Description

ACCEPT Education Collaborative is a regional non-profit educational organization with locations in Medway and Natick, MA. ACCEPT provides programs and services including special education for students with moderate to severe needs, transportation, home-based services, behavioral and educational consultation, and professional development. Programs cover PreK-12 and up to age 22 for life skills and therapeutic programs, addressing autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral needs, global impairments, cognitive/intellectual disabilities, language disorders, ADHD/ADD, and nonverbal learning disability. ACCEPT seeks dynamic and compassionate teaching assistants to work in our Middle and High School Programs in Medway. Pay starting at $22.09 per hour.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of the Special Education teacher and Behavior Specialist
  • Assist with classroom instruction and support students
  • Maintain a safe, clean and supportive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with lead teacher to design and implement systems to track student progress
  • Provide assistance during non-classroom time and arrange recreational activities
  • Attend required meetings and trainings
Daily Activities
  • Arrive prepared before students and stay until all students are dismissed
  • Check in with teacher and behavior specialist daily
  • Ensure student clipboards/data sheets are prepared
  • Maintain organized and professional classroom space
  • Collect daily behavior and academic data
  • Implement individual student behavior support plans and reinforcement schedules
  • Support teacher during whole group and small group lessons
  • Implement individual student academic programming as applicable
  • Follow the schedule created by the classroom teacher
  • Communicate issues to the teacher and behavior specialist promptly
  • Complete incident and restraint reports as required
  • Read and respond to emails within 24 hours
  • Ensure classroom is cleaned and ready for the next day
Other Considerations
  • Occasional travel between ACCEPT programs to fulfill TA responsibilities
  • Physical demands: ability to move, lift up to 20 lbs, endure long periods of standing or sitting, and assist with safety and behavioral management
  • Work environment: typical school setting, not remote
