Job summary

SEEDS Ecology & Education Centers in Marion, Michigan is seeking a part-time EcoSchool Teaching Assistant to enrich after-school and summer programs for elementary students. You will support youth engagement, assist in lesson delivery, and help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.

No teaching degree is required, but reliability, communication, and a willingness to learn SEEDS and Michigan program standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Comfortable and effective working with youth.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willing to learn and follow SEEDS’ and the State of Michigan program requirements.
• Pass required background checks.
• Have or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
• Meet applicable child-care licensing qualifications.

Wage starting at $17.28/hour

Essential Roles

What You Need Coming In

You don't need to be a teacher or have a college degree.

We do need you to:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be comfortable and effective working with youth
• Communicate well and stay organized
• Be willing to learn and follow SEEDS’ and the State of Michigan program requirements
• Pass required background checks
• Have or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
• Meet applicable child-care licensing qualifications

Additional school-age training and direct experience working with school-aged children are preferred rather than required.
