Assignment Dates: February 27, 2025 - June 27, 2025

Position Overview:
The 1:1 Teaching Assistant will provide direct, one-on-one support to a student.The role involves assisting with academic tasks, supporting the student’s participation in classroom activities, and helping with social integration. The ideal candidate is patient, adaptable, and passionate about working with students who may require additional assistance to thrive in a classroom setting. The position will extend through the end of the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with a student in the classroom to provide individualized academic support and ensure they are engaged and able to participate in all class activities.
  • Provide behavioral support as needed, using positive reinforcement and strategies to support the student’s emotional and social development.
  • Help monitor the student’s progress, providing feedback to the teacher and parents as needed.
  • Support the student during lunch, recess, and other non-academic times as required.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment for the student.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher in education or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with students with special needs, behavioral challenges, or learning disabilities is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed academically and socially.
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions from the classroom teacher and special education team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Background check and fingerprinting required.
